caretaker to handle. But you need to understand that ADHD is just a condition that represents
functional difference. It does not mean that the child cannot be taught to choose right from wrong.
But while handling a child for their parent, you need to take certain steps for their safety and
convenience. So, the steps that you need to take to while handling a kid with ADHD are:

  1. Try to be fun
No matter how much or what degree of ADHD is consisted by the child that you are taking care of,
do not ever forget that they are just a child. Every child likes interesting things. They tend to place
their attention over the things that seem interesting to them.
And the best thing about children is that they are not rocket scientists and hence, it does not take
much to make them get interested. Try playing something or making them enjoy in any way you can.
It will make your job a lot easier.
  2. Praise them
One thing that every one likes, whether it be a child, teenager, or an adult, it is appreciation. In the
case of children with ADHD, one of the biggest mistakes that everyone makes is criticizing them for
their failures. But in their condition, failures are going to occur more often.
But if you play around with them, then not only will they feel better, but they will also want to
interact and cooperate with you more.
  3. Make them do something physical
Children are walking powerhouses, period. This statement is true even for the children with ADHD.
But since they don’t fit in with the normal crowd, they exert that power in the wrong places as the
final choice. You can change this by playing a game with them, or better, having an exercise session
    with them.
When they will see you doing something physical, then they are going to feel more interested and
would like to try it out as well.
  4. Try to connect rather than control
One thing that adults usually like to do with their children is try to control them by commanding
them. But it does not work on any child, and can backfire in the case of children with ADHD. So, to
make sure that you get the child to cooperate with you out of their own will.
You can try explaining to them about what you want them to do and that can have them provide
better cooperation because of the connect that you made.
